KABUL: Mawlavi Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid, the National Defense Minister, and Mullah Abdul Haq Wasiq, the Director General of Intelligence of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, have departed for Qatar.
Sources in the Ministry of National Defense told Radio Omid today that the delegation from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is headed to Doha to engage in discussions with high-ranking Pakistani officials regarding recent developments in relations between Kabul and Islamabad.
Previously, a high-level delegation of Pakistani officials also traveled to Doha yesterday.
Reports indicate that the delegation includes the Defense Minister, the Chief of Army Staff, and the head of Pakistan’s military intelligence (ISI).
It is expected that the discussions will address recent tensions in Afghanistan-Pakistan relations with the mediation of the Qatari government.
