KABUL: Construction work has begun on a water supply network valued at 9.9 million Afghani in Herat province.
The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development in a statement told Radio Omid on Wednesday that work has started on four other water supply networks, with a total value of 20 million Afghani, in Ghor province.
The water supply network in Herat will be constructed in the “Gologha” village of the Zindajan district, while the four other networks will be built in the districts of “Tulak, Pasaband, and Tyora” in Ghor.
Upon completion of these water supply networks, 412 families in Herat and 756 families in Ghor will gain access to clean drinking water.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development stated that the implementation of the projects will create job opportunities for dozens of local residents.
Efforts to provide essential living necessities, including safe drinking water, for citizens, particularly in remote and underserved areas, continue to progress.
