For first time 20 wagons of diesel imported via Khaf-Herat railway

KABUL: Officials of the Ministry of Public Works have announced that the import of oil through the Khaf-Herat railway has commenced for the first time.
Mohammad Ashraf Haqshenas, spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Works, said today that the oil shipment consisted of 20 wagons of diesel, which arrived at the “Ruznak” station in Herat Province last evening.
The spokesperson added that the shipment weighed 1,120 tons and was imported by a private company.
He noted that the Ministry of Public Works of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is working to improve transportation conditions and facilitate trade by implementing projects and expanding the country’s railway network.
The Khaf-Herat railway is a crucial and strategic rail network that connects Afghanistan through Herat Province to Iran and Turkey.
