KABUL: Mullah Mohammad Ibrahim Sadr and Munir Karaloğlu, the Deputy Ministers of Interior of Afghanistan and Turkey, respectively, met on the sidelines of the “ECO” meeting in Tehran, Iran’s capital, to discuss various issues.
According to a statement from the interior ministry today, the meeting is considered an important step towards strengthening friendship, cooperation, and mutual interests between the two countries, taking into account Islamic values.
The statement added that the Turkish Deputy Minister praised the positive changes following the establishment of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, stating that human trafficking and drug smuggling have decreased by 50%.
The ECO meeting was hosted by Iran, with the participation of deputy ministers of interior from member countries of the organization.
A delegation from the Islamic Emirate, including a senior security official from the Ministry of Interior and Afghanistan’s ambassador to Tehran, attended the meeting.
