Humanitarian situation worsens in Sudan’s Al-Fasher following city capture

KABUL: International humanitarian organizations have warned that the situation for people in Al-Fasher, Darfur, has become critically dire following the city’s capture, with fears of a humanitarian crisis escalating daily.

Aid workers fleeing the area report that the streets of the city are filled with the bodies of the dead, with hundreds killed during recent clashes and chaos.

On Thursday, the United Nations responded to armed attacks and public executions, calling for an emergency meeting to assess the ongoing situation in Sudan.

Humanitarian agencies indicate that thousands of families have been forced to abandon their homes due to the fighting, seeking refuge in safer locations.

However, their lives are severely threatened by a lack of food, medical supplies, and shelter.
