Nearly 8,000 Afghan migrants expelled from Pakistan entered country via Spin Boldak in one day

KABUL: The High Commission for Addressing Refugee Issues said in a statement today that 7,913 migrants have entered Afghanistan in one day after being forcibly expelled from Pakistan, only through the Spin Boldak crossing.

The Commission stated that the expelled individuals include 1,436 families, who have been registered by the reception committee.

Additionally, 853 families, comprising 5,118 individuals, were transported to their original localities through the commission’s transport committee yesterday.

The families have been relocated to Kandahar, Herat, Zabul, Ghazni, Farah, Nimroz, and Kabul provinces.

Also, a total of 8,624,000 Afghanis in cash assistance was provided to the returning families yesterday.

This report comes as the Torkham crossing, which had been closed for nearly 20 days, reopened yesterday exclusively for Afghan migrants being expelled from Pakistan.
