KABUL: Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a telephone conversation with Bakhtiyar Saidov, his Uzbek counterpart, discussing the further expansion of bilateral relations, strengthening economic cooperation, and the general regional situation.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, during the conversation, the Afghan Foreign Minister emphasized that the Islamic Emirate prioritizes diplomacy and understanding in regional matters, seeking relationships based on mutual respect, non-interference, and constructive interaction with all neighbors.
According to the Ministry’s statement, Bakhtiyar Saidov also praised Afghanistan’s constructive positions and efforts made for peace and stability in the region, noting that regional stability is a shared responsibility of all countries.
He added that instead of any form of intervention, the focus should be on strengthening the space for understanding, economic cooperation, and mutual trust.
Uzbekistan, as a northern neighbor of Afghanistan, has maintained extensive political, economic, and trade relations with Afghanistan over the past four years.
