KABUL: Following a relatively strong earthquake that struck several provinces and districts in the northern regions of the country, the Ministry of National Defense has announced its readiness to provide immediate assistance to those affected.
In a post on X at 2:00 AM on Sunday night, Enayatullah Khwarazmi, the spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense, shared several contact numbers, urging those affected to reach out to the Islamic and National Army forces for urgent assistance.
Khwarazmi emphasized that the Islamic and National Army forces are always prepared to serve and assist the country’s citizens under any circumstances.
The earthquake, which occurred late Sunday night, caused significant tremors in various parts of the country, particularly in the northern provinces.
As a result of this natural disaster, several citizens lost their lives, dozens were injured, and the Kabul-North Highway was closed.
Efforts to provide relief and reopen blocked roads are currently underway.
