KABUL: Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, during his visit to Samangan province, expressed his condolences and solidarity with earthquake victims, his office said in a statement today.
He assured the earthquake survivors that the Islamic Emirate will utilize all available resources to provide shelter, reconstruct homes, and address various existing issues.
The statement mentioned that Mullah Baradar Akhund brought cash assistance with him, which will be transparently distributed by local officials to those affected, for home reconstruction, shelter building, medical treatment for the injured, and other necessities.
The Deputy Prime Minister also expressed gratitude to all charitable organizations, traders, and citizens who have assisted the earthquake victims during this difficult time.
He urged “all capable citizens, traders, and international charitable organizations to help the victims and families affected by this tragic event.”
Just two days ago, as a result of a devastating earthquake in northern Afghanistan, including Samangan province, nearly 30 martyred and around 1,000 others were injured.
