Putin awards developers of “Historic weapon of the 21st century”

KABUL: Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, awarded developers of what has been described as “the historic weapon of the 21st century” during a ceremony, the Russian state-run TASS news agency reported today.

The Russian President stated that the development of the “Burevestnik” cruise missile and the unmanned underwater vehicle “Poseidon” holds historic significance for the country, as the technologies used in these weapons are unparalleled.

He told the developers, “The results you have achieved are, without exaggeration, of historic importance for our people and for ensuring security and maintaining strategic balance in the decades to come; and it can be confidently stated that this will be true for the entire 21st century.”

Putin emphasized the close connection between the two weapons, noting that both serve as complements to each other.

TASS did not provide details about the nature of the awards or the identities of the recipients.

Experts have observed that while the world is yearning for peace, major powers continue to showcase their new and ruthless lethal weapons. Recently, Trump also tasked the U.S. Department of Defense with expediting the testing of nuclear weapons.
