Central Asian leaders as special guests at the White House; Washington seeking economic footing near Moscow

KABUL: Washington is hosting five leaders from Central Asian countries as part of the tenth anniversary of the C5+1 trade conference.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced on social media this morning, that the conference will focus on new investments and trade agreements between the U.S. and Central Asian countries.

He stated that these agreements will create job opportunities and export possibilities for American companies while also strengthening the region’s economies.

This U.S. diplomatic official emphasized that under Donald Trump’s policies, the U.S. aims to establish partnerships that protect Washington’s interests and promote peace and prosperity.

The tenth C5+1 conference comes at a time when Russia, a competitor of the U.S., has close ties with Central Asian countries located nearby.

It remains to be seen what types of investments and new economic agreements the Trump administration will pursue to stimulate the region’s economy.
