Araghchi in telephone conversation with Pakistani counterparts emphasizes need for continued dialogue between Kabul and Islamabad

KABUL: Dr. Sayed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, in a telephone conversation with his Pakistani counterpart, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, discussed Afghanistan.

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement today that Dr. Araghchi expressed concern about the current state of relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan and emphasized the necessity for continued dialogue between Kabul and Islamabad.

In the conversation Araghchi highlighted the importance of ongoing discussions between the two sides, in collaboration with influential countries in the region, to resolve differences and reduce tensions.

Kabul He also announced the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to provide any assistance in achieving this goal.

The statement quoted the Pakistani Foreign Minister as emphasizing the importance of maintaining regional peace and stability.

The senior diplomats from Iran and Pakistan underscored the need for continued consultations on this matter. It is worth noting that Iranian officials have previously expressed their willingness to mediate between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
