KABUL: Hamas has returned the body of an Israeli officer, Hadar Goldin, to Israel, after eleven years.
Reports indicate that Hamas forces handed over Goldin’s body to the International Committee of the Red Cross in the southern Gaza region.
The Israeli military confirmed the officer’s death and the return of his body, notifying his family.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Goldin was killed during the Gaza conflict in 2014 and that his body had been held by Hamas forces.
The return of the body comes amid ongoing tensions between both sides regarding the conflict in Gaza and the humanitarian situation.
