KABUL: The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has reported that three explosions occurred in the “Mazzah 86” area of the capital, Damascus.
In a report, the human rights organization stated that the explosions took place on Friday night, when a residential building in the impoverished Alawite neighborhoods was struck by at least three missiles, resulting in casualties; however, due to the area being cordoned off by government forces, exact figures remain unknown.
Meanwhile, Al Jazeera reported, citing Syrian media, that the missiles were launched from a mobile launching platform, but it is unclear who or which group was responsible.
Al Jazeera’s correspondent noted that the incident occurred in a completely civilian area, which also houses several diplomatic offices.
The series of missile attacks in the Syrian capital took place while security operations by the Ministry of Internal Affairs are still ongoing.
