Hamas rejects UNSC resolution; Claims it does not uphold Palestinian rights and demands

KABUL: The Islamic Resistance Movement of Hamas has rejected the United Nations Security Council resolution to establish a “Peace Delegation” and “International Stability Force” in the Gaza Strip, Reuters reported this morning.

According to Hamas, the resolution does not affirm the rights and demands of the Palestinian people and seeks to impose international oversight over Gaza, a move that is opposed by Palestinians and resistance groups.

In a statement, the movement noted that transferring various missions and roles to an international force within Gaza, including the disarmament of the resistance, eliminates its neutrality and turns it into a party supporting the occupiers.

Hamas is regarded as a key entity advocating for the rights of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

It is important to mention that the UN Security Council approved a resolution a few hours ago in support of peace in Gaza, which effectively endorses U.S. President Trump’s 20-point peace plan—a plan emphasizing the disarmament of Hamas and transferring the future of Gaza to a “Peace Delegation” and “International Stability Force.”
