KABUL: The foreign ministers of Afghanistan and Iran have held their second phone conversation regarding the regional situation and bilateral relations, in the past ten days.
In a recent statement, the Iranian Foreign Ministry indicated that the two ministers discussed the current regional situation, bilateral ties, and issues for joint cooperation during their phone call.
Sources reveal that Sayed Abbas Araghchi reiterated Tehran’s readiness and capability to cooperate in maintaining stability and peace in the region.
He emphasized that countries should strengthen the dialogue process to resolve conflicts.
According to the statement, Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi appreciated the diplomatic efforts, stating that ongoing regional consultations could play a crucial role in improving the situation.
Iran had previously announced that efforts are underway to organize a regional meeting aimed at reducing tensions between Kabul and Islamabad.
