Ministry of Finance destroys nearly 100 tons of low-quality fuel at Islam Qala crossing

KABUL: The Ministry of Finance said in a statement today that nearly 100 tons of imported, low-quality fuel have been destroyed at the Islam Qala crossing in Herat province.
According to the statement, the inferior diesel and petrol, which had been secretly imported into the country in commercial vehicles at various times, have been destroyed in accordance with a court order in the presence of the Emirati delegation.
According to the statement, the fuel was identified as low-quality after inspection in customs laboratories, prompting the order for its destruction.
The Ministry of Finance emphasized that all imported goods and items are thoroughly examined, analyzed, and evaluated at customs.
Additionally, monitoring teams from the General Customs Directorate of the Ministry of Finance are working tirelessly to prevent the entry of low-quality imported goods into the country’s markets.
