KABUL: The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development in a statement today, said that construction work on a check dam valued at 12.9 million Afghanis has begun in Kandahar province.
The dam with 161 meters long and 8 meters high, with a capacity of 8 thousand cubic meters of water is being built in the “Chikaw” village of Nesh District in Kandahar province through the provincial directorate.
It is expected that the implementation of this project will create job opportunities for dozens of residents in the Nesh District.
The purpose of constructing this check dam is to manage rainwater and strengthen groundwater resources.
