Investigating child deaths post-COVID-19 vaccination in the U.S.

KABUL: A senior official from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has indicated that at least 10 children in the country may have died from myocarditis (heart inflammation) following COVID-19 vaccination.
Vinae Prasad, the chief of medical affairs, stated that these fatalities are linked to the vaccination process and emphasized that the agency will conduct a thorough investigation into the precise causes of these cases.
He noted that the names of the vaccine manufacturers and the exact timing of the children’s deaths have not been disclosed.
According to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), from January 2020 to June 2023, at least 1,071 children aged 5 to 18 died from COVID-19 in the U.S.
This comes as U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has altered the government’s COVID-19 vaccination policy, restricting access to the vaccine only for individuals over 65 or those with serious medical conditions.
