KABUL: The Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock, Mawlavi Sadr Azam Osmani, met with Jamshid Abdovzokrov, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Livestock of Uzbekistan, and his accompanying delegation.
According to a statement from the ministry, in the meeting, the two sides discussed the export of meat to Uzbekistan, the establishment of orchards in the Andkhoy district of Faryab province, and collaboration on improved seeds.
The statement quoted Osmani as saying that the relationship between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan is historic, noting that Afghanistan’s private sector has the full capacity for collaboration in meat production and exports.
According to the statement, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan mentioned that in recent years, the trade volume between the two countries has increased from $410 million to $610 million, and Uzbekistan aims to expand cooperation in various areas of agriculture and livestock.
