Trump: Ukraine and Russia have come close to a peace agreement for first time

KABUL: Donald Trump, the President of the United States, stated that for the first time in eleven years, Kyiv and Moscow have presented close views for a peace agreement.
In a message early today on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump said that after a week of intense diplomatic efforts, the differences between Russia and Ukraine have become centered around territorial boundaries and NATO membership.
He added that currently, both countries have a meaningful phase and framework for peace in place.
According to Trump, this marks a decisive moment that has not been achieved in over eleven years of conflict between the two nations.
It remains unclear how resolvable these disputes are and which side may be willing to compromise.
Russia insists on maintaining sovereignty over the occupied regions of Ukraine and opposes Ukraine’s NATO membership, while Ukraine is unwilling to cede any territory to Russia and emphasizes its desire to join the European Union and NATO.
