KABUL: Hakan Fidan, the Iranian Foreign Minister, emphasized the need to increase collaboration with the Afghan government to curb irregular migration during a meeting with his Iranian counterpart, Sayed Abbas Araghchi.
Iranian media reported on Sunday night that Ankara and Tehran are currently exploring ways to engage the Afghan government on this issue.
The Turkish Foreign Minister stated that one of the key areas of cooperation between Turkey and Iran is to develop effective strategies for preventing irregular migration.
While senior officials from Iran and Turkey are highlighting the importance of collaboration with Kabul to manage irregular migration, Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, the Minister of Refugees and Repatriations, recently discussed this matter with the Turkish ambassador.
Mawlavi Abdul Kabir identified easing visa issuance for Turkey as one of the options to prevent irregular migration.
