Widespread destruction from nature’s fury in Southeast Asia; death toll exceeds 600

KABUL: The Indonesian, Malaysian, and Thailand officials have reported that the death toll from flooding and landslides in these three countries has surpassed 600 individuals.
Reuters reported on Sunday night, that the devastating landslides and floods caused by heavy rainfall and storms have resulted in extensive devastation across Southeast Asia, while rescue operations continue in the affected areas.
According to the reports, the fury of nature has claimed the lives of 435 people in Indonesia, 170 in Thailand, and 3 in Malaysia.
Official statistics from the three countries indicate that approximately 4 million people have been affected by this crisis.
While the water levels in flooded areas have receded, rescue teams have successfully evacuated tens of thousands of individuals.
It is reported that over 3 million people in southern Thailand and an additional 1.1 million in western Indonesia have suffered from the effects of this natural disaster.
Images released from the affected areas show that water levels in some residential regions have risen to unimaginable heights, consuming all of people’s belongings.
