Prime Minister accepts credentials of new Qatari Ambassador to Afghanistan

KABUL: Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, the Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate, has accepted the credentials of Mirdef Al-Qashouti, the new Qatari ambassador to Kabul, in the presence of Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

After receiving Mr. al-Qashouti’s credentials, the Prime Minister expressed hope that diplomatic relations would expand during his tenure,  according to a statement from Arg today.

He also noted the historical ties between Afghanistan and Qatar, acknowledging that Doha has cooperated with Kabul during challenging times, for which they are grateful.

The new ambassador of Qatar has also pledged to work towards strengthening and expanding relations between Kabul and Doha.

He stated that it is an honor for him to serve in Kabul.

It is worth mentioning that Mirdef Al-Qashouti, previously served as the Chargé d’Affaires of Qatar in Afghanistan and has now been promoted to the position of ambassador.
