KABUL: The European Union Representation in Afghanistan has announced that it has provided training on cultural heritage protection for 300 individuals in Kabul.
In a statement released today, the representation noted that the training is being conducted practically, with financial support from the EU and in collaboration with the Aga Khan Foundation in Bala Hesar, Kabul.
Veronika Besković, the EU representative in Afghanistan, visited Bala Hesar to observe the training program.
The statement highlighted that these efforts will help protect cultural heritage while also strengthening the economy by creating job opportunities.
Attention to and restoration of historical sites with the support of governmental and international organizations has increased in recent years.
