KABUL: A portion of a coal mine in Samangan province has collapsed, resulting in the deaths of two miners.
The provincial Natural Disaster Management Department of Daikundi said in a statement that the deceased miners were residents of the “Dasht and Khwalak” areas of Nili, the capital of Daikundi province, who had gone to work in Samangan.
Local officials in Daikundi stated that the coal mine collapsed in the Dara-i-Souf district of Samangan province.
As of now, local authorities in Samangan have not commented on the incident.
This follows another recent incident where two residents of Daikundi were killed and injured due to a coal mine collapse.
