KABUL: The Ministry of Interior Affairs said in a statement today that 194 kilograms of narcotics have been thwarted in Kunduz province.
According to the statement, the narcotics were identified and confiscated during a police checkpoint managed by the Anti-Narcotics Department of the Kunduz Police Chief in the Aliabad district of the province.
The statement added that two individuals who had cleverly placed the narcotics in a vehicle for smuggling purposes were also arrested and will be handed over to judicial authorities following preliminary investigations.
Details regarding the type of narcotics seized were not mentioned in the statement.
Additionally, the Herat police reported today that 29 kilograms of methamphetamine (crystal) have been seized in their province.
