KABUL: Jill Bertrand, the new European Union representative for Afghanistan, praised the stability, sure security, economic growth, and acceptance of millions of Afghan migrants during a meeting with Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday, the EU representative also acknowledged the Union’s attention and cooperation in economic areas, especially within the private sector, and urged greater bilateral cooperation to attract investment from large foreign companies into Afghanistan.
He simultaneously assured the continuation of EU assistance for Afghanistan.
As stated in the statement, the Minister of Foreign Affairs highlighted the launch of major projects over the past four years by the Islamic Emirate and called for positive steps from the EU in various fields for Afghanistan’s improvement.
Also, both sides emphasized the importance of continuing cooperation and such discussions.
It is noteworthy that Jill Bertrand has recently succeeded Thomas Nicholson, the former EU representative for Afghanistan.
