Ukrainian drone hits Russian oil tanker in the Black Sea

KABUL: Ukrainian officials have confirmed that their forces carried out a targeted attack on a Russian oil tanker in the Black Sea, successfully disabling it, according to Al Jazeera today.
A representative from Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) stated that the Russian tanker “Deshan” was moving at maximum speed with its positioning devices turned off when the rear section was targeted and rendered inoperable within Ukraine’s exclusive economic zone.
Details regarding potential casualties from this attack have not yet been released.
This is the third attack on Russian maritime tankers in recent weeks. Previously, two additional Russian oil tankers were also targeted by Ukrainian military forces.
Meanwhile, fierce battles are ongoing between Ukrainian and Russian forces in the strategic city of “Pokrovsk.” Russia claims to have captured the city, while Ukraine insists that it still controls the northern sections.
