GHAZNI: Two residents of Ghazni province have lost their lives due to gas poisoning, officials confirmed.
The Ghazni Police Command’s press office said in a statement today, that the gas poisoning occurred in the “Nani” village of the Andar district, claiming the lives of a husband and wife.
The statement explained that the couple had turned on a gas heater to warm their room while boiling water, but the heater extinguished as the water boiled, leading to the release of gas and an oxygen reduction, resulting in both fatalities.
This is the second gas poisoning incident in Ghazni in the past two days that has resulted in fatalities.
On Friday night, a similar incident in the “Pashtunabad” area of Ghazni city also led to the death of another couple.
The Ghazni police have urged residents to exercise caution when using gas cylinders and heaters for heating purposes.
