KABUL: Dr. Sayed Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian Foreign Minister, has stated that his country’s initiative to hold the “Special Representatives from Afghanistan’s Neighboring Countries and Russia” meeting aims to create integration between Kabul and the regional countries.
In an interview with the Iranian state news agency IRNA, Araghchi emphasized that Afghanistan is an important country with great potential among its people. He noted that the purpose of the Tehran meeting is to promote greater peace and stability in the region, taking these attributes into consideration.
The senior Iranian diplomat expressed that Iran views regional peace and stability within a framework free from the interference of extra-regional powers.
Previously, Zakir Jalali, a senior official from the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, remarked that Afghanistan should be perceived beyond a security-centric approach, with a constructive focus on “connectivity, cooperation, and regional integration.”
