KABUL: Officials of the Ministry of Public Health have announced the launch of a polio vaccination campaign across 16 provinces.
Dr. Sharafat Zaman Amarkhel, spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Health, stated that the campaign began today.
He noted that the campaign is set to last for four days, during which 7.2 million children under the age of five will be vaccinated against polio.
The spokesperson added that this round of the polio vaccination campaign includes the southern and eastern provinces of the country.
Before the campaign’s initiation, the Minister of Public Health called on religious scholars and families to provide necessary support to polio volunteers nationwide.
