KABUL: Mawlavi Noor Jalal Jalali, Afghanistan’s Minister of Public Health, during his trip to India, met with his Indian counterpart, J.P. Nadda, in New Delhi, the ANI news agency reported on Wednesday.
During the discussions, the Indian Health Minister stated that Delhi is committed to supplying the necessary medicines for Afghanistan over the long term and will continue its health cooperation and interactions with Kabul.
Minister Nadda emphasized India’s humanitarian support for the people of Afghanistan and symbolically handed a package of cancer vaccines and other vaccines to Minister Jalali.
He noted that the long-term provision of medicines and health assistance is one of the core pillars of the bilateral interactions between Kabul and New Delhi, reflecting India’s commitment to addressing the healthcare needs of the Afghan people.
The report also indicated that a larger shipment of medicines, vaccines, and a 128-slice CT scanner will soon be sent to strengthen health services in Afghanistan.
Indian media described the discussions between the health ministers of Afghanistan and India as “constructive,” highlighting them as a reflection of sustained support for Afghanistan’s health system.
It is worth mentioning that Mawlavi Noor Jalal Jalali arrived in India two days ago on an official visit.
