KABUL: As the end-of-year holidays approach in the U.S., nature’s fury has severely disrupted life in California.
Reuters reported this morning that heavy rainfall and severe storms are affecting the state.
Authorities have advised drivers to avoid road travel and have issued evacuation warnings for residents living in mountainous areas due to the risk of landslides.
In addition, flash flood warnings have been issued in eight regions of California.
The areas receiving warnings include Fresno, Madera, Kern, Los Angeles, Ventura, San Bernardino, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo.
In some areas, rainfall has reached between one to two inches (50.8 mm), while warnings have been issued for potential rainfall of up to eight inches in certain regions.
The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for New Year’s Eve night in Southern California, describing the situation as a “life-threatening” threat.
