KABUL: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is set to visit the White House tomorrow (Sunday) for discussions aimed at finalizing his country’s 20-point peace agreement, The Washington Post reported on Friday night.
In recent statements regarding the peace plan, President Trump indicated that it ultimately requires his approval and that Kyiv has nothing without Washington’s endorsement.
However, Zelensky stated that the goal of his visit to the U.S. is to secure full confidence in finalizing the peace plan, which he believes is currently 90% complete.
He stated, “Signing the 20-point agreement without Russia and without the Europeans is impossible. Yes, this is a four-party agreement.”
On the other hand, the Ukrainian President acknowledged that finalizing the plan is not straightforward, and no one can guarantee that immediate results will be achieved.
As Washington and Kyiv work towards a final agreement on the peace plan with Russia, it remains uncertain whether Moscow will accept it.
