Zelensky’s meeting with Trump; Lavrov claims Kyiv and its European allies are not ready for constructive dialogue

KABUL: As Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, prepares to meet with Donald Trump to finalize a peace plan, Sergey Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Minister, asserts that Kyiv and its European supporters are not ready for constructive discussions with Moscow.

Lavrov said with TASS news agency, a Russian state media outlet, early today, that Ukraine daily targets the civilian infrastructure of Russia with its “subversive actions,” killing innocent civilians.

He stated, “We see that the regime of Volodymyr Zelensky and its European supporters are not prepared to engage in constructive dialogue.”

The remarks from the senior Russian diplomat coincide with one of the heaviest assaults by Moscow on Kyiv.

Zelensky reported yesterday that the Russians targeted the country’s infrastructure, including energy facilities, with over 500 drones and dozens of missiles, plunging hundreds of homes into darkness.
