KABUL: Donald Trump, the President of the United States, while speaking alongside Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of the Israeli occupying regime, stated that if Iran seeks to revive and expand its ballistic missile reserves and nuclear program, he would support renewed attacks on the country.
According to ABC News, Trump made the remarks on Monday night, Tehran time, where he also mentioned that he has heard Iran is seeking dialogue and a deal, emphasizing that if this is the case, it would be wise.
The report quoted Trump, as he stated: “I’m now hearing that Iran is rearming itself again, and if that’s the case, we will have to suppress them. We will take them down; we will hit them hard.”
However, the U.S. leader expressed hope that it would not come to that and that there would be no renewed attack by his country on Iran.
Earlier, U.S. media reported that sources indicated Netanyahu, during his visit to the U.S., was trying to persuade Trump to consider a renewed attack on Iran.
