Erdogan: Recognition of Somaliland by the Israeli occupying regime is ‘Unacceptable’

KABUL: Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the President of Turkey, stated that the recognition of Somaliland by the Israeli occupying regime is an ‘illegitimate and unacceptable’ action.

Erdogan made the remarks on Tuesday night, after he met with Sheikh Mahmood, the President of Somalia, on X.

The Turkish President asserted that the Netanyahu regime, which has blood on its hands from 71,000 Palestinians, is now attempting to destabilize the Horn of Africa following its attacks on Gaza, Lebanon, Yemen, Iran, Qatar, and Syria.

He wrote: ‘In this process, we will firmly support the territorial integrity and political unity of Somalia and stand alongside the Somali people.’

Erdogan expressed his belief that Somali brothers and sisters will act based on the spirit of unity, solidarity, and understanding.

Recently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Israeli occupying regime issued a report recognizing the autonomous region of Somaliland in Somalia as an independent territory, a move that has also been strongly condemned by the Islamic Emirate.
