KABUL: The Ministry of Information and Culture said that Benjamin, the Deputy of the European Union, has visited the National Archive of the ministry.
According to the ministry’s statement, during this visit, Shafiq Ahmadzai, head of the Ministry’s Foreign Relations and Cultural Affairs Department, and Qari Obaidullah Hanif, head of the National Archive, shared information about the archive’s building and its artifacts.
During the visit, the EU Deputy expressed: “ I was very impressed by visiting the National Archive,” stating that preserving such historical manuscripts is a significant historical initiative. He remarked, “It is evident that Afghans have a unique love for their culture and historical artifacts.”
Furthermore, Qari Obaidullah Hanif, head of the National Archive, asked the EU delegation to assist in establishing connections between Afghanistan’s National Archive and the archives of European countries.
According to reports, the National Archive building has a historical background of 129 years, preserving historical manuscripts from various eras.
