KABUL: The Iranian government has introduced several senior officials to the judiciary for failing to meet the needs of citizens.
According to state media outlet Tasnim, today, the head of Iran’s Inspection Organization stated that cases against certain high-ranking officials who have not fulfilled their duties, resulting in the unmet needs of Iranian citizens, have been handed over to judicial authorities.
He mentioned: “Companies, factories, and banks that have not fulfilled their foreign exchange obligations will be given a one-week deadline. Those who do not comply within this timeframe will be introduced to the judiciary.”
Additionally, a legal case has been initiated regarding the shortcomings of the Central Bank of Iran.
Tasnim did not disclose the identities of the high-ranking officials facing these legal issues.
This development comes as thousands of Iranian citizens have protested over the past two weeks due to soaring prices and a dramatic decline in the national currency’s value against the dollar.
