Cash assistance provided to hundreds of returning migrants in Balkh

KABUL: As part of ongoing aid distribution to returning families in the country, 520 families in Balkh province received cash assistance.

The media office of the Department of Refugees and Repatriations said in a statement that these families, who have recently returned from Iran and Pakistan, each received 10,025 Afghanis.

The families receiving aid had previously been surveyed and identified through a transparent process conducted by the Department of Refugees and Repatriations in the suburbs of Mazar-i-Sharif.

The statement noted that the cash assistance was distributed by a collaborating organization in coordination with the Department of Refugees and Repatriations.

These families are also expected to receive two additional rounds of cash assistance in the future.

The distribution of cash, food, and non-food assistance to returnee families continues through the winter season.
