KABUL: Iran’s Foreign Minister Sayed Abbas Araghchi stated that the recent chaos in Iran was instigated by elements supported from abroad, to incite unrest and encourage a new U.S. military intervention.
In an exclusive interview with Fox News, Araghchi indicated that the death toll was “in the hundreds,” rejecting figures provided by media outlets supportive of the U.S. and Israel.
He attributed the root cause of the recent protests not to economic issues but to the influence of foreign extremist groups, which, according to him, have escalated violence against security forces and civilians.
Araghchi claimed that these actions were intended to promote violence and provoke U.S. interference, but assured that their security forces now have complete control over the situation.
Additionally, the Iranian Foreign Minister emphasized a firm commitment to defending national sovereignty and security, expressing hope that a new wave of violence could be prevented through rationality.
