Iran closes airspace following escalation with Washington

KABUL: A flight tracking website, FlightRadar24, reported on Wednesday night that Iran has closed its airspace to all flights.

According to FlightRadar24, only those international flights that have prior permission and coordination can transit through Iranian airspace. Reports indicate that the airspace is currently closed for more than 24 hours.

This closure follows reports from Western media citing sources about a potential imminent U.S. attack on Iran within the next 24 hours, a timeframe that has already passed by more than 50%.

The exact nature and timing of the reported attack have not yet been disclosed.

Meanwhile, Iranian military officials have repeatedly stated that they will respond severely to any military action taken by the U.S. against their country.
