Ceasefire declared between Syrian Government and the Kurdish-led SDF

KABUL: The Syrian government has announced a ceasefire with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), led by the Kurds, following several days of deadly clashes.
Al Jazeera reported on Sunday night, that the Syrian Democratic Forces are expected to withdraw from areas west of the Euphrates River, allowing the Syrian army to take control.
The Kurds will be integrated into government civil and military institutions, with their leaders being appointed to key positions.
Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa stated that, based on this agreement, Syrian government institutions will enter three eastern and northern provinces of Hasakah, Deir ez-Zor, and Raqqa—areas previously under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces.
Al-Sharaa also called on Arab tribes to maintain their calm and allow the terms of the ceasefire to be implemented.
Following the agreement, the management of detention centers and camps related to ISIS in Kurdish territory will be handed over to the Syrian government.
The ceasefire comes after several days of bloody conflict centered on ownership of oil fields along the Euphrates River in northeastern Syria.
