KABUL: Officials of the Badakhshan Police Command have reported that three drug traffickers were killed by the border forces of Tajikistan.
In a statement released today, the Badakhshan Police Media Office confirmed the deceased were residents of the “Khwahan” district and were targeted by Tajik border guards two nights ago.
The statement indicated that the individuals engaged in a confrontation with Tajik border forces after being identified, resulting in an exchange of gunfire that led to their deaths and their bodies have been handed over to Afghan border forces.
Recently clashes between Tajik border forces, armed individuals, and drug traffickers increased in the area.
