KABUL: Richard Lindsay, the Special Representative of the United Kingdom for Afghanistan, during his official visit to Pakistan, met with Sardar Ahmad Shakib, the Islamic Emirate ambassador based in Islamabad, Pakistan.
In a post on his X account Lindsay said on Tuesday night, that in the meeting, he discussed security issues and the impact of Islamic Emirate policies on women and girls. However, he did not provide further details about the topics covered in his discussions.
The Afghan embassy in Pakistan has also not commented on the meeting or the issues discussed.
Before meeting with the Islamic Emirate ambassador, he also met with Muhammad Sadiq Khan, Pakistan’s Special Representative for Afghanistan.
Lindsay emphasized the importance of his visit to Islamabad to meet with senior Pakistani diplomats and work on reducing regional tensions.
He reiterated that London will continue to engage and cooperate to support peace and security, which are vital for long-term development and growth.
Notably, before this visit, the UK Special Representative for Afghanistan had also met with Mohammad Suhail Shaheen, the Islamic Emirate ambassador to Qatar.
