KABUL: Zalmay Khalilzad, the former U.S. special representative for peace in Afghanistan, recently stated that Pakistan’s strategy regarding Balochistan has failed.
In a post on his X account, he wrote early today, that the attacks by Baloch militants in Pakistan yesterday revealed a “serious crisis” within Pakistan’s strategy.
Emphasizing that the current crisis in Pakistan’s strategic approach requires reform, he questioned whether such reforms would take place.
Khalilzad did not provide further details regarding the existing crisis in Pakistan’s strategy.
Yesterday, Balochistan witnessed widespread coordinated explosions and clashes at military centers and key areas within the province. The Pakistani Ministry of Defense and the Baloch Liberation Movement both claim to have inflicted casualties on one another during this series of attacks.
