KABUL: The head of the Journalism Faculty at Kabul University, Zabihullah Bashirdost, stated that there is healthy competition among media outlets at both regional and international levels, making media activities particularly significant in society.
He highlighted that the media can play an effective role in clearly distinguishing between good and bad.
During a meeting to sign a tri-partite Memorandum of Understanding between the Omid Media Network and several educational institutions, Bashirdost expressed his gratitude to the network’s leadership for initiating such collaborative programs between media and educational institutions.
He urged media professionals to focus on innovation in their activities and to present content that genuinely benefits the public.
Bashirdost noted that in today’s world, countries engage in conflict through media and propaganda, making the strengthening and protection of the media sector critically important.
At the meeting, he emphasized that through such agreements, we can prevent harmful foreign propaganda and safeguard national interests.
He also called on the Islamic Emirate to pay serious attention to supporting the media and assured that all personnel of the Journalism Faculty at Kabul University are ready for comprehensive cooperation with the Omid Media Network. According to him, this collaboration will be a significant and decisive step for both parties.
