KABUL: Spokesperson of the Ministry of Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, Saif-ul-Islam Khyber, in a statement on Sunday categorically rejected UNAMA’s recent report regarding arrests, misconduct, and restrictions in the country, deeming it far from reality.
He stated that all activities conducted by the Ministry’s inspectors align with religious guidance, applicable laws, and clear ethical principles.
Mr. Khyber assured that no arbitrary actions or misconduct have taken place, and no one is permitted to act inappropriately toward women or men.
He emphasized that all initiatives of the Ministry are aimed at inviting, reforming, and raising public awareness in the light of religious and Afghan values.
The official urged citizens not to believe in such “baseless, illogical, and unrealistic” reports produced by UNAMA or any other entity that diverges from on-ground realities.
Previously, Mawlavi Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Islamic Emirate, also reacted to the statements made by United Nations officials regarding Afghanistan, labeling them as unfounded.
