MoU signed between NDMA and IRW to provide cash and non-cash assistance to thousands of families in two provinces

KABUL: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Relief Welfare (IRW) institute, valued at over 24.1 million Afghanis.

According to a statement from NDMA on Tuesday, based on the MoU International Relief Welfare Institute will distribute food packages to 1,868 families in the Spin Boldak district of Kandahar and provide cash assistance to 1,877 families in the Allahyar and Murghab districts of Ghor province.

“Each food package includes 50 kg of flour, 8 liters of oil, 7 kg of chickpeas, 5 kg of beans, 3 kg of dates, 10 kg of rice, and 20 packets of pasta,” said the statement adding that each family in the two districts of Ghor will receive 5,500 Afghanis in cash.”

The memorandum was signed by Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, head of the National Disaster Management Authority, and Zulqarnain Abbas, head of the International Relief Welfare Institute.

Mullah Turabi urged the officials of the mentioned institute to implement the projects transparently and within the designated timeframes.

This comes as the process of distributing humanitarian aid by governmental and non-governmental organizations in the country continues.
